Pepperoni Bread

Are there ever too many variations of pizza? I don’t think so!

Of course, there’s regular Pizza, cauliflower pizza casserole, pasta pizza casserolepepperoni pizza chicken, or even pizza on butternut squash toast. Eggplant pizza and portebella pizza are also some of my favorites. But these options aren’t always the best to serve at large gatherings.

Growing up, we attended church dinners whenever possible. One of the most coveted dishes was pepperoni bread. It was the last dish set on the table and the first to disappear. I only had it once or twice a year, but I enjoyed every last crumb.

When I got married and moved away, I knew I had to be able to make this recipe to share at church and family gatherings. Pizza is expensive and messy, but pepperoni bread can be made ahead of time and reheated or even served cold.

Now, when I attend church dinners, I’m the one bringing the pepperoni bread and always coming home with an empty dish. The youth group begs for it at each activity and even the adults enjoy it at gatherings.

It’s SUPER SIMPLE to make and only has 3 ingredients. You can make your own whole wheat bread dough (in the breadmaker) or buy it frozen at the store.
