Offertory – November 4, 2018

Morning Service – For the morning service, I will be playing “Grace Greater than Our Sin” by Daniel B Towner (this arrangement by Bill Wolaver © 2003 Word Music, LLC). This arrangement is very flowing, much like the grace that flows to cover all of our sins. It’s not quiet, yet not bold either. It’s expressive and harmonic in the melody much like how we can be in harmony with God through Christ’s grace. It’s calming, also similar to us when we allow His grace to penetrate our lives.

Here are the lyrics:

Marvelous grace of our loving Lord,
Grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt!
Yonder on Calvary’s mount outpoured,
There where the blood of the Lamb was spilled.

(Chorus)
Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that is greater than all our sin!

Sin and despair, like the sea waves cold,
Threaten the soul with infinite loss;
Grace that is greater, yes, grace untold,
Points to the refuge, the mighty cross. (Chorus)

Dark is the stain that we cannot hide;
What can we do to wash it away?
Look! There is flowing a crimson tide,
Brighter than snow you may be today. (Chorus)

Marvelous, infinite, matchless grace,
Freely bestowed on all who believe!
You that are longing to see His face,
Will you this moment His grace receive? (Chorus)

Evening Service – For the evening service, I have chosen I Will Celebrate by Rita Baloche (©1990 Maranatha Praise, Inc, #572 in the Baptist Hymnal © 2008 LifeWay Worship). I chose this song because today is the first Sunday in November, a month that most of us focus more on giving thanks. I love that this song focuses on PRAISING HIM with ALL that we have for everything He has given to us. I have found that when I praise God for all He has given me and all He has done in my life, I overflow with gratitude instead of being discontent with what I don’t have. I pray this song ministers to you as well.

Here are the lyrics:

I will celebrate, Sing unto the Lord;
Sing to the Lord a new song.
I will celebrate, Sing unto the Lord;
Sing to the Lord a new song.
(Repeat)

With my heart rejoicing within,
With my mind focused on Him;
With my hands raised to the heavens,
All I am worshiping Him.

I will celebrate, Sing unto the Lord;
Sing to the Lord a new song.
I will celebrate, Sing unto the Lord;
Sing to the Lord a new song.
