WOW!! Can you believe it’s been a WHOLE YEAR since I started writing this blog?!? I can’t.
This year has flown by, but I have learned a lot about myself, my God, and my blog readers. I have had some high highs and some low lows. I’ve posted lots of yummy recipes and have delve more into God’s Word than ever before.
Here’s a little look at my year in review and what I’ve learned.
I had an exhilarating celebration as I marked the 5th anniversary of being cancer free . I was able to share my entire cancer journey with you while (hopefully) offering some encouragement to people who may be facing a difficult illness. I learned a lot throughout my cancer journey about myself and about God. Ultimately, He’s in control and I need to submit to His will.
I’ve experienced so devastating trials as I endured another cancer scare and the health issues that were discovered from the subsequent testing. I’ve lived through periods of doubt, envy, loneliness, and a variety of other emotions.
I learned that I need to listen to what God is calling me to do (or not do) instead of allowing external pressure from other people to influence my decisions. I learned that it’s ok to not know right away if God is calling you to do something and to throw Him a fleece.
I’ve shared some funny stories, like when I got locked out of the house, cleaning fish tanks, or changing light bulbs. I’ve read lots of books and have shared my thoughts. I’ve learned tons of new recipes that my family loves and frequently asks to be included in our rotation.
Now, let me be honest: there have been times in the past year when I felt like quitting, giving up because it seemed like no one was reading my blog. But, for the faithful few, I will continue. Your encouragement has kept me going. I’m somewhat disheartened that my dad is the only person in my immediate family who reads my blog, but I’m thankful for his support and encouragement…and even the phone calls that start with laughter from my latest drama.
So, as I/we embark on another year, I pray that you’ll continue to read the words that God has given me to share. I hope that you will be encouraged by the sentences that come together to form a post. I trust you will be well nourished by the yummy (and mostly healthy) recipes that I develop. Above all, I pray that I will continue to glorify God with this ministry He has blessed me with. This is never something I dreamed I would do long-term, but I will continue as He directs.
I’d love to hear more from YOU!! What do you want to read about? What types of recipes do you want to see? What do you like or not like?
P.S. In case you haven’t noticed, you may not be seeing all of my posts on Facebook due to some reconfiguring on their part. To ensure you don’t miss a blog post, please subscribe to the blog using the link below. I sure do appreciate it! And SHARE AWAY!!
