Shakeology Intro

If you follow me on Facebook, you see me post before/after pics about different workout programs. What you don’t see (although this may change) is what helps me to MAINTAIN these results.

The “secret” to my success…portion control and SHAKEOLOGY!

So, what is Shakeology? It’s a YUMMY shake that fills you up. All you have to do is put some type of liquid (I use unsweetened almond milk and water) into a blender, add a scoop or the powder and some ice, and WHALA!  You have a delicious shake that you can customize to taste like just about anything!

Why do I like Shakeology? It’s convenient, easy, and tastes yummy!  It’s super nutritious without tasting like it. It has helped me to curb that mid-afternoon snack craving and helps me make it from lunch to dinner without snacking on empty calories.

I add a serving of spinach to my shake every day as a way to get an extra serving of vegetables. By pureeing it into the shake, it’s easier for my “torturous” (dramatically twisted) colon to digest. Plus, you don’t even taste the spinach…it adds NO flavor, just nutrients.

Shakeology has helped to improve my digestion and nutrient absorption. How do I know that? Well, I have more energy, my hair and nails grow like crazy, and I am more “regular”. It has helped me to maintain my weight loss since August 2016 and is clinically proven to promote weight loss. It also supports healthy blood sugar levels.

So, why is Shakeology different from a protein shake you can buy at Walmart or a health food store? It’s a great source of dense nutrition that uses 70 different all-natural superfoods. It has NO preservatives, additives, or chemicals!

What’s in Shakeology? The ingredients are harvested from around the world and Shakeology is formulated with the following “blends”:

  • Protein – to help build lean muscle and reduce cravings
  • Super-fruit/Antioxident – to help fight free radical damage and help support a healthy immune system
  • Super-green/Phytonutrient – to help support health and vitality
  • Adaptogens – to help the body adapt and respond to the effects of stress
  • Prebiotic and Probiotic/Digestive Enzyme – help support nutrient absorption and support regularity and healthy digestion.

Shakeology currently comes in two varieties with seven different flavors. There’s a vegan option for people with dairy or other digestive sensitivities (I use and LOVE the chocolate vegan). The variety of flavors ensure that you won’t get bored with the “same old” thing. Plus, there are TONS of “recipes” included with your order, not to mention the abundance of other ones you can find on Pinterest.

I use Shakeology as a meal replacement. I eat breakfast, a mid-morning snack, lunch, Shakeology as my mid-afternoon snack, dinner, and sometime even a bedtime snack. By using Shakeology as a meal replacement, it actually SAVES me money. It only costs about $4 a serving (one serving a day) which is cheaper than a meal at a drive-through or an ice cream treat from Dairy Queen or your local ice cream shop, not to mention that it’s much more filling and nutritious.

If I tried to eat food that would provide the same amount of nutrients, I would have to spend $41 instead of $4 to get the same nutrients as:

  • 3 cups of romaine lettuce
  • 4 cups of raw mushrooms
  • 1 shot of wheat grass
  • 1 bowl of exotic fruit
  • 3 raw onions
  • 7 raw carrots
  • 4 cups of nonfat yogurt
  • 4 cups or red radishes
  • 4 cups of raw broccoli
  • 1 cup of peas
  • 10 cups of raw cauliflower

Not to mention that I either don’t like the taste or texture of most of those foods nor I can eat some of them due to allergies or digestive issues.
